Chapter 11 of the Book of Revelation begins with an angel telling St John to measure the dimensions of the Temple, but not the outer court. It then prophesies the appearance of two 'witnesses' with supernatural powers. These are symbolically related to two Old Testament Prophets: ,Moses and Elijah.
