Secrets of the 3 Kings

We are all familiar with the story of the three kings or Magi. They appear right at the beginning of the Matthew Gospel, bringing gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. On the face of it, this is a a folk tale with no real meaning other than strange gifts for a baby. Yet when we dig deeper, it turns out to be an allegory with a much deeper meaning: one that conceals the horoscope of Jesus himself. In this short lecture, based on Adrian's book 'Magi', we explore the history and cultural origins of this story, which turns out to be a 'legominism'.
