The 9 'A's of Gold Diving
Take this one with a pinch of salt or maybe a glass of wine. It is a bit of fun but with a message none the less.Life can be hard and often confusing if we don't know ourselves. This means identifying strengths as well as weaknesses. In this video we discuss nine factors, each beginning with the letter 'A' that can bring about success or failure. In order to describe these, I am using the example of the Discovery TV program (now available on other platforms) that in the US is called 'Bering Sea Gold' and in the UK 'Gold Divers'. This series has been running for some ten years now and has a cast of unusual characters, many of whom personify extreme examples of the nine 'A's. Gold Diving is itself an extreme pastime that requires many abilities if a person is to be successful at it. In addition, the gold industry itself is unique in that there is always a market for the product. Success or failure is quantifiable with an exactness that is not possible with most other industries. There is no hiding failure by blaming it on poor marketing. It therefore provides an excellent mirror by means of which we can observe the 9 'A's in action.
