The whore of Babylon
The Whore of Babylon, who rides the Beat with seven heads and ten horns, is one of the biggest mysteries contained in the Book of Revelation. We first hear of her at the end of chapter 16 but this is followed by two, whole chapters, 17 and 18, discussing her and what her fate is going to be. She must be important as few themes or images are given this much attention. In this programme, we explore the symbolism at great depth and from numerous angles to discover what John is really alluding to. She turns out to be something we are all very familiar with and we are not talking prostitution.
